A typical application example of naturally guided AGV in a well-known home appliance manufacturer. It can be seen from the plane layout of the factory that the green line is the driving path of the AGV. It can be seen that there are obvious landmarks such as walls and pillars around the material handling passage of the workshop, and the environment is relatively stable, so it is suitable to use the natural guiding type. AGV replaces the original manual material handling.

1.AGV stand-alone design

The overall dimensions of the AGV are 1122×624×785 (mm). According to the actual needs of customers, AGV adopts natural guidance, two-wheel differential drive, rated load 50kg. The AGV is mainly composed of a vehicle body, a transfer mechanism, an electronic control part, a travel drive unit, a safety protection unit, a communication unit, a display and an operation unit.

2.AGV workflow

The tote is sent from the first floor to the AGV working floor through the elevator, and is transported by the conveyor to the inbound and outbound platform that can be docked with the AGV. The AGV travels to the outbound platform to receive the full tote according to the command of the upper system.

The AGV sends the tote to the required production line side station according to the system requirements. When the AGV and the station station perform the handshake confirmation by the photoelectric signal, the AGV automatically transports the tote to the unloading station to complete the feeding process.

If the empty container recycling station on the production line needs to be shipped back, the AGV will return with an empty box and return it to the empty container returning to the dedicated platform. After a delivery is completed, the AGV automatically detects the power. If it needs to be charged, the AGV automatically charges to the charging position. If no charging is required, the AGV continues to accept the next task.

3. Application effect

The production of the home appliance industry and the assembly process of the whole machine require a lot of manpower, and the material delivery on the line occupies a large proportion. The use of AGV can completely replace the original manual distribution, effectively saving human resources, reducing the labor intensity of workers, improving the efficiency of logistics and product quality in the plant, and reducing the operating costs of enterprises.
