The guidance mode of the AGV, the so-called AGV guidance mode refers to the way to determine the direction and path of the AGV. It is different from the general communication mentioned above. The commonly used guiding methods are divided into two categories: the predetermined path mode and the unscheduled path mode.

(1) The method of guiding the external route of the vehicle means that the information medium for guiding is arranged on the traveling path, and the AGV obtains the guiding manner of guiding by detecting the information thereof, such as electromagnetic guiding, optical guiding, Tape guide (also known as magnetic guide).

(2) Non-predetermined path (free path) guiding method One is to store the dimensional coordinates on the layout on the AGV, and to guide the driving path from the main ground by identifying the current orientation of the vehicle body, also known as the vehicle. The software is a programming path; the second is laser guidance.

The research on AGV guidance technology is very active, which is embodied as follows:

1. path setting is more flexible.

2. path changes are simple and easy.

3. Improve the ability to adapt to road or environmental changes.

4. Accurately detect position and bearing values in real time to improve guiding performance.

5. Performance (smart) that gives perception and avoidance of obstacles.

6. has a human-machine dialogue function.

7. stronger information communication function.

8. systems try not to rely on the central computer.

More than 9 AGVs coordinated work.

To do this, you need to address the following key technologies:

1. High-precision and inexpensive position and direction detection means.

2. means of information communication.

3. image processing and image recognition technology and the practical use of automatic converters.

4. system overall technology (especially multiple AGV group control technology).
